Pay and Save, Inc. Acquires Family Center IGA

PRESS RELEASE - April 2, 2025

Littlefield, TX: The Family Center IGA Food Store in Port Aransas, Texas has a new owner. Pay and Save, Inc. (dba. Lowe's) has entered into an agreement to purchase the food store.

Lowe's will begin operating the full-service supermarket on May 8, 2025. The store will be renamed, Lowe's Family Center. "We've got some big plans for this location, and we look forward to building strong friendships with our island neighbors and visitors." stated Roger Lowe, CEO of Pay and Save, Inc.

"I wanted to sell the store to Lowe's because they quickly become part of the community and do whatever is needed to meet customer needs. That is what I want for my friends and neighbors in Port Aransas." said Mike Hall, Owner of Family Center IGA Food Store.

All Family Center IGA Food Store employees will have the opportunity to transition to Lowe's. "It's our sincere hope that every employee will become a Lowe's Teammate and experience our teamwork culture." stated Joel Griffith, Director of Human Resources for Pay and Save, Inc.

Lowe's has already made financial donations to the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce, VFW Post 8967, Sandy Paws and Helping Hands Food Pantry. They also became a sponsor of the Texas Sand Festival.

Lowe's Markets began in 1963 with the purchase of their first store in Olton, Texas. Their culture puts a genuine emphasis on customer service. They want every customer to feel 'welcomed' when they arrive, 'at home' when they're shopping, and 'blessed' when they depart. It is this philosophy that has allowed the company to grow to 147 grocery stores in five states. Lowe's is a Texas-based, family-owned business.
